The Top End and Broome

Many end up basing their exploration of the Top End of Western Australia here. Broome usually has balmy nights and warm days, but summers, December through February, can be hot. The sea here is turquoise and clear and easily accessed at the town’s famous Cable Beach, a perfect stretch of sand where you don’t have to worry about crocodiles or sharks (although you must heed local warnings on seasonal jellyfish). Sunset camel rides and pearling expeditions are the norm here.
